It was also told to social media platforms that if any complaint is received under the new rules, then it will have to accept it within 24 hours. Along with this, 15 days of indoor action will also have to be done. At the same time, if action is not taken, then the reason will have to be given.

There were also some platforms that asked for a time of 6 months regarding these rules. Some of them even said that they have not received instructions from their headquarters which is based in the US.

Koo followed the rules:

As of now, no other platform except Koo has followed the new guidelines. Koo said in a statement, “Koo’s privacy policy reflects the requirements of the rules applicable to the Terms of Use and Community Guidelines. In addition, Koo has supported an Indian resident Chief Compliance Officer, Nodal Officer and Greviance Officer. Diligence and Grevians have implemented redressal mechanisms. “

In the event of the expiry of the deadline by other social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, the government can take criminal action against them. Otherwise Facebook, Twitter are banned in india.

What is the new digital ethics code:

With the new digital ethics code, the government aims to create a progressive institutional mechanism. Union IT and Communications Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad had said that streaming services have been designed to prevent misuse and disclose the source of misinformation and remove it within 24 hours.
